Positive Image v1.12 Demo (68030 version)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This disk/archive (delete as appropriate) contains a usable demonstration
version of Floppyshop's image processing and retouching package,
Positive Image. We strongly suggest that you read the files POSIMAGE.DOC
and STARTING.OUT which can be found in THE_DOCS folder as they detail the
main features of the program and give some hints on getting started with
the demo. There are a number of important points you should consider when
evaluating this demo.
1. This is the 68030 version of Positive Image. It will not run on an ST
(unless PAK accelerated). It is intended for use on the Falcon, Afterburner
(68LC040 version) and MagiCMac running on an Apple Macintosh. It will also
run on higher spec machines such as the TT, Medusa, Hades, Eagle, Hawk,
Afterburner (full version), DirecT40 and DirecT60, but we advise you to get
hold of the 68040 version to see the package at its best on those machines.
Please note that the 68040 instruction set is so similar to the 68030 (only
a handful of obscure instructions are different) that the 68040 version will
run on a standard TT or a Falcon with an FPU. If you have either of those
machines, we suggest you get hold of the 68040 demo as it is MUCH faster due
to its in-line FPU code.
2. If your screen display looks messed up and you have a graphic card attached,
select 'Preferences' from the Options Menu and switch on the appropriate graphic
card options for your own card, then save your preferences. This needs to
be done for each colour depth (mono, 16 colour, 256 colour etc) supported
by your card.
4. The program will try to configure itself to your system and write a
POSIMAGE.INF file to your drive as soon as you run the program. Please write-
enable the disk and allow it to do so.
5. Printer support has been disabled in the demo version. Select print to
view the printer options. Although your printer may not be listed by name,
it is almost certain to be compatible with one of the generic types listed.
6. Saving is obviously disabled!
7. Positive Image now has its own home pages on the World Wide Web. Using
CAB, NetScape or any compatible browser, you will find us on:-
http://www.compdirect.com/posimage/
The latest version of this demo is always available for download from our
home pages or by ftp from the following sites:-
ftp micros.hensa.ac.uk
ftp ftp.cnam.fr
ftp ftp.toad.net
8. See VERSIONS.TXT for a list of what's changed since v1.0.
Finally, we hope you enjoy using the demo and decide to purchase the full
version. The standard Positive Image package (includes 68000, 68030 and
68040 versions) retails at £79 but is currently available at a special
introductory price of £65 + P&P (£2 UK, £5 Europe, £10 rest of world).
Credit card payment welcome.
If ordering from overseas (please check OVERSEAS.DOC first to see
if we have a distributor in your country) and not paying by credit card, please
ensure that payment is made in U.K. funds by Post Giro, Eurocheque or a cheque
drawn on a U.K. bank and remember to include the extra postage (see POSIMAGE.DOC).
